About Dramaquill - author of Writemore

Published by dramaquill

Smile Hi.  I’m Dramaquill and I am a writer.  I’ve had several pieces published in children’s magazines, mostly kids’ poems.  My newest two will be featured in upcoming issues of Hopscotch for Girls.  Check out “The Language of Tap” and “Marsupials” in 2009.

I co-own a performing arts studio where we offer classes in voice, dance, drama and creative writing.  I write approximately 6 original playscripts for our drama department every school year.  I absolutely love playwriting.  Watch for my article, “The Business of Playwriting”, coming out in Writer’s Digest’s newest market book, “Screenwriters’ and Playwrights’ Markets 2009″, available in December.  I also have an article in the 2010 market book as well.

I’m usually more of a fan of fiction than non fiction but I entered a contest for an anthology and was lucky enough to make it into the book.  Check out:  “Dear Mom:  I’ve Always Wanted You to Know”, published by Penguin-Putnam, for my essay, “Big Shoes to Fill”.

The writing journey is an ongoing adventure for me.  I didn’t choose to be a writer - it chose me…seriously!  As a child, I remember making up scenerios to play with the neighborhood kids.  I’d give them all characters to become and a plot to follow and we’d while away hot sunny afternoons under the big apple tree in my backyard, staging our little productions.  I never seemed to run out of ideas.

So I’d like to share my writing ideas, my journey working on my first adult suspense novel and any great information I come across that might help out other writers as well as connecting with writers of all genres and all levels.

I hope you’ll consider leaving a comment or two on my blog from time to time.
